About the Role
Job Description
We are seeking a proactive, organized, and approachable HR Representative to provide comprehensive human resources support for our San Antonio location. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between management and staff, ensuring that our workplace remains productive, compliant, and supportive. You will be responsible for the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through performance management and employee relations.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, screening, interviewing, and conducting new-hire orientations.
Employee Relations: Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries, concerns, and grievances. Foster a positive work culture through conflict resolution and consistent application of company policies.
Performance Management: Assist managers with the performance review process, goal setting, and coaching to ensure team development and accountability.
Compliance & Administration: Maintain accurate personnel records, manage timekeeping/payroll assistance, and ensure all HR practices strictly adhere to local, state, and federal labor laws.
Training & Development: Coordinate and facilitate internal training programs, including safety compliance, customer service standards, and leadership development.
Benefits Administration: Support employees with benefits enrollment, leaves of absence, and general HR policy questions.
Requirements
Experience: 2–4 years of experience in an HR generalist or representative role (retail or grocery industry experience is a major plus).
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
HR Knowledge: Solid understanding of employment laws (FLSA, FMLA, ADA, etc.) and best practices.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly preferred to support our diverse team.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in HRIS software, Microsoft Office Suite, and basic payroll systems.
Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, high level of emotional intelligence, and ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
